The wind moaned behind the bird’s song
As I traced my name across the stone
I placed my hand where the grass had grown
I couldn’t feel her below, she’d really gone

But there you were
I laid every day at my love’s grave
Until I met eyes with you

We went to lunch dressed in all black
We flinched and giggled as our knees touched
I winced a little when I shared too much
So, I tried to brush it off with a nervous laugh

So, I made my way from my love’s grave
And wept once more, for you

So, here’s a paper gift I made for you, my bride
With a blue touch of a new wind
As true a love as the return of spring
But the kids would just as soon I died

I laid a bouquet at my love’s grave
